Gin & Tonic

Classic, easy and light and perfect for a summer afternoon. The best Gin and Tonics are made with the best gins, especially those with a slight citrus flavor and a great blend of botanicals.

Bombay Sapphire and Tanqueray Rangpur are two of my favorites and if you like this recipe but could pass on the gin, you might want to try Vodka Tonic.

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz gi
  • 5 oz tonic wate
  • lime wedge for garnis
Preparation:
  • 1. Pour the ingredients in a highball glass with ice cubes.
  • 2. Stir well.
  • 3. Garnish with the lime wedge.

Frozen Daiquiri

This is a frozen version of a Daiquiri. It stays with the fresh lime juice that you find in the shaken version, but there is no need to stop there. Take this recipe and make it your own by creating your own fresh fruit blend like pineapple-kiwi, strawberry-banana, etc.

Another option is to go with one fruit flavor and the Strawberry Daiquiri and Banana Daiquiri are two of the most popular.

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz light rum
  • 1 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 oz sugar syrup
  • lime wedge for garnis
Preparation:
  • 1. Blend the light rum, lime juice, and sugar syrup with approximately 2 cups of ice.
  • 2. Pour into a chilled collins glass.
  • 3. Garnish with the lime wedge.

Long Island Iced Tea

This is a classic mixed drink that should be in everyone's drink repertoire. An easy way to remember how to make a Long Island is to think of a small shot of 5 white spirits (gin, tequila, light rum, vodka, triple sec), shot of sour mix, fill with cola. It's really easy if you break it down, but it is also just as easy to drink too many.

The 1970's credit for this potent and alluring concoction could go to Robert Bott, a bartender from Long Island, or to Charles Bishop, a 1930's moonshiner in (then dry) Tennessee. Or was it T.G.I. Friday's?
The LIIT has also inspired many variations which are below the recipe.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 oz triple sec
  • 1/2 oz light rum
  • 1/2 oz gin
  • 1/2 oz vodka
  • 1/2 oz tequila
  • 3/4 oz sugar syrup
  • 1 oz sour mix
  • cola
  • lemon wedge for garnish
Preparation:
  • 1. Pour the spirits and sour mix into a collins glass with ice.
  • 2. Stir well or shake.
  • 3. Top the glass off with cola.
  • 4. Garnish with the lemon wedge.

Frozen Magarita

Here is blended version of the original Lime Margarita. This version has a nice, light, sour lime taste but there are many more variations with almost any flavor you may want. If the mix is too thick once blended, add more juice: if it's too thin, add more ice.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup of ice
  • 1 1/2 oz tequila
  • 1/2 oz Triple Sec
  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 3 oz sour mix
  • lime wedge for garnish
  • salt for rimming glass (optional)
Preparation:
  • 1. Pour the ingredients into a blender.
  • 2. Blend until smooth.
  • 3. If desired, salt the rim of a chilled margarita glass.
  • 4. Pour contents into the glass.
  • 5. Garnish with the lime wedge.

Screwdriver

Looking for a little Vitamin C? The orange juice in a Screwdriver makes this cocktail one of the best brunch picks. It's a favorite mixed drink that is very easy to make and a nice, refreshing highball for summer. Make your Screwdriver even better with fresh squeezed orange juice.

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 5 oz orange juice
Preparation:
  • 1. Build the ingredients in a collins glass with ice.
  • 2. Stir well.
