What to Bring on Your Surfing Holiday
In addition to your basic tropical attire, here are some product suggestions that may come in handy on the trip:
Sunglasses, sun cream , good hat, surfing hat, Surfboard wax, spare leg rope, Rashey, booties. If you're the type to really go hard, we would suggest you also pack a Gath helmet and a radiator or short John wetsuit for added reef protection.
2 boards are definitely desirable for varying conditions and if you’re unlucky enough to bust up one of your sticks, you’ve got a spare. This will help maximise the excitement of your surfing holiday by making sure that there is no surfing ‘downtime’.

You will see how consistent Indo is for providing quality surf waves, making this region one of the world’s best for a perfect surfing holiday.
These surf forecasting pages are updated daily and provide detailed reports on tides, winds and swell size as well as directions to the region of Lembongan, Lombok and Sumbawa. Keep an eye on them in the days leading up to your trip, so you will know how the surf is going to before you even arrive!

Your Surfing Holiday Requires Comprehensive Travel insurance!
Please ensure that you have made adequate plans for your travel insurance needs. We require that you are fully covered for any major accident or injuries sustained while on board the Indocean. We at The Indocean want you to get the most out of your surfing holiday but we do not take responsibility for your insurance cover. Rest assured, we will at all times endeavour to put your safety first in any circumstances, but arranging adequate insurance cover is your responsibility.
Medical
The Indocean is fully equipped with a comprehensive first aid kit. Should any accident occur, such as getting dragged across a razor sharp coral reef, we will make sure you scrub up as best you can for the remainder of the trip. We want you to be able to get the most out of your surfing holiday that you can, in the best possible condition you can be. Obviously the best course of action is to avoid injury in the first place, but we know that occasionally accidents will happen, so we come prepared.
Malaria
Malaria is still active in the island of Sumbawa, but you are generally very safe. MMS supplements are a very effective Malaria treatment, having cured over 75,000 Malaria cases in Africa alone.
